My name is GoshikkuOtaku, otherwise know as BlueKoin in other places of the internet. I'm an amateur video game reviewer and overall game enthusiast. I'm different from the average person, and as such my tastes and opinions are often quite different as well. I don't care about things like high framerates or complex stories; I like games to be fun first and foremost. While I do consider things like graphics, sound, and writing while reviewing a game, its score is ultimately affected by how the game plays. I prefer to use a five-point scale for scores, as I find it's more clear where a game stands, and it forces me to be decisive about my stance on a game. I argue that the difference between a 7/10 game and an 8/10 game isn't clear at a glance, and thus the number holds no value on it's own. On the contrary, a 5/5 game is obviously better than a 4/5 because it goes from being a point above the middle to being as high as it gets.

I am primarily a Nintendo fan, however, I do play games on other consoles. I don't have a very good PC, so if there is any console I have a preference against, it's that. I have a Backloggery page that is mostly accurate, but I am working on getting it filled out. Here's a link on the off chance that you're interested in seeing my library.

Please do forgive the design of my site. I made it myself, and I am by no means an experienced graphic designer. I do want this site to look nice, but I don't think it needs to look incredibly fancy. Plain colors and text will do just fine.

While I try to remain as objective as possible, my reviews will of course represent my personal opinion of a game, and thus are merely a manifestation of my own tastes and interests. If you've played a game that I've reviewed and you disagree with my score, that's good; it means you have autonomy. You don't have to agree with my scores. However, you must respect my right to my personal opinions and not attempt to force me to change them. I will not force my opinions on anyone, and you must not attempt to force yours on me.

Here's a breakdown of my rate scale, for the sake of clarity:

5: No objective flaws.
When I think a game has no flaws that can be argued beyond personal bias, I give it this score. This would be the equivalent of a 10/10 or 100%. While I often will give this score to a game that I love, I don't outright have to love the game personally to give it this score. Likewise, just because I love a game, doesn't mean it's guaranteed this score.

4: Great, but not perfect.
This is what I give to a game that is undeniably enjoyable, yet is not absolutely perfect. Often this can be a game that I have tons of fun with that has minor mechanical or fundamental flaws, or suffers from experience-altering bugs or glitches. Effectively, this score is the equivalent of the 6/10-9/10 range. Again, this is for the sake of clarity and decisiveness.

3: Not bad, but not great either.
Obviously, this is the score for a game that is equal parts good and bad. For everything this kind of game does right, it has something equally wrong about it. I don't consider this a low score; merely an average score.

2: Unenjoyable, for the most part.
Sometimes a game is built around good ideas but ultimately executes them poorly. This is the score for such a game. Often, games that fall under this score are also littered with bugs and glitches that ruin the overall experience. Being on the opposite end of the scale as 4, this score naturally represents the 2/10-4/10 range.

1: Completely unenjoyable.
This score represents the worst of the worst. A game so terrible that it has no redeeming qualities. This score isn't necessarily reserved for broken, poorly designed excuses for entertainment, as it also applies to games that are incredibly boring or are completely forgettable experiences.
